What a website needs to have to work in 2016

You may be looking at this post thinking “well I already have a website that works, that’s all it takes!” Unfortunately, simply existing is not all it takes.

So what does it take to have a successful website in 2016? When you look at your website, you see pages. You may see links that lead to other pages both inside and outside of your own website. You may see pictures, graphics, or animations that are on a loop in one of your headers, and you may see content explaining just who you are. While all of that is great and means you have something there, it does not mean that your website is working.

For a website to work, it needs more than just pictures and content. It needs to be accessible to many, and fully functional on any resolution and any device. It needs to navigate correctly, and there needs to be an abundance of information for your customers. Most importantly it needs to be easily found on major search engines. Too many people today believe that you just need some pretty colors, a little bit of information, and a couple different pages in order to make your business’s website boom. Unfortunately it needs much more than that.

Technology has increased in popularity tremendously over the last decade, so making sure that your website is functioning correctly is crucial to its success.
